cristina salgado Em 1978, Cristina Salgado Kauffmann graduou-se em genética, na Faculdade de Ciências Biológicas da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Estuda desenho e pintura com Roberto Magalhães (1940), Rubens Gerchman (1942-2008) e Astréia El-Jaick (1941), entre 1977 e 1978; e litografia com Antonio Grosso, em 1981, na Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (EAV/Parque Lage), no Rio de Janeiro. Conclui mestrado em comunicação e cultura na Escola de Comunicações da UFRJ. Desde 1993, atua como professora no Departamento de Artes e Design da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC/Rio). Também é professora assistente no curso de artes do Instituto de Artes da Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (Uerj), desde 1997. Em 1991, recebe bolsa do British Council de Artista Residente no Yorkshire Sculpture Park, na Inglaterrra, onde expõe individualmente nesse mesmo ano. Em 1999 é contemplada com a bolsa RIOARTE para desenvolvimento de trabalho na área de escultura.
